Silence 03:43
I was locked in my room (in silence) Building hell in a cave (in silence) I was searching my tomb (in silence) For the one thing I crave (silence) I was sick in a hole (in silence) Til I heard not a sound (silence) Then it lit up my soul (silence) When I finally found (silence) In silence we creep In silence we sleep In silence we dream In silence we scream I was counting the cost (of silence) Adding sound upon sound (in silence) It was you that I lost (in silence) It was then that I found (silence) Now I try not to cry (in silence) In case it destroys (the silence) I shout at the sky (in silence) Above all the noise (in silence) In silence we walk In silence we talk In silence we speak In silence we shriek I was reading instructions On how to build a fire Meanwhile all around me Flames got higher and higher

Television 05:16
I’m gonna make - I’m gonna make - I’m gonna make a big decision I’m gonna be - I’m gonna be - I’m gonna be on television Don’t care what I have to do Don’t care what I have to say Don’t need any supervision ‘Cause I’m gonna be on television. I’m gonna be - I’m gonna be - I’m gonna be in a competition I’m gonna play - I’m gonna play - I’m gonna play like Joy Division Don’t care what I have to do Don’t care what I have to say Don’t need anyone’s permission ‘Cause I’m gonna be on television. I’m gonna be - I’m gonna be - I’m gonna be on television I’ve got 20 - I’ve got 20 - I’ve got 20 20 vision Don’t care what I have to do Don’t care what I have to say Don’t walk out in intermission (‘cause) ‘Cause I’m gonna be on television.

It reads real good when I read it It feels so good when I feel it But I don’t know why. I don’t believe it ‘cause I’ve been deceived before Take it or leave it, I won’t be deceived no more It sounds so good when I hear it It looks so good when I’m near it But I don’t know why. I don’t believe it ‘cause I’ve been deceived before Take it or leave it, I won’t be deceived no more And I don’t know why. I don’t believe it.

We 03:55
We, we come here frequently And we, we come here peacefully Generations thrown into space Seeking somebody warm to embrace He told me something I didn't quite understand. You, you said you needed help Your world, was like a cheap hotel Generations shit in their nest Generations put to the test I think he showed us somewhere better to land.

Karma Gutsa 01:31
It’s the beginning of the song, And if you want to sing along, You’ll only get it wrong, So don’t fuck with it, Don’t fuck with it. This is just another verse, But I’m afraid it’s getting worse ‘Cause we just don’t rehearse We don’t fuck with it, Don’t fuck with it. We change the mood so it won’t bore us, ‘Cause we don’t even have a chorus. Now we’re running out of words And the song’s become a dirge But it can’t get any worse Don’t fuck with it Don’t fuck with it We told the booker there’d be plenty But it looks like there is less than twenty. Now it’s the middle of the song And it’s gone on way too long

Anything 02:56
If I said left (Don’t need it that bad) Then you’d say right (Don’t need it that bad) And we’d be driving (Don’t need it that bad) Around all night (Don’t need it that bad) And I don’t (Don’t need it that bad) Don’t need anything that bad. Whispering neighbours (Don’t need it that bad) Left and right (Don’t need it that bad) Pluck us from (Don’t need it that bad) The real delight (Don’t need it that bad) And I don’t (Don’t need it that bad) Don’t need anything that bad. Glasses glued (Don’t need it that bad) Against the wall (Don’t need it that bad) Keep us from (Don’t need it that bad) Our daily chores (Don’t need it that bad) And I don’t (Don’t need it that bad) Don’t need anything that bad.

It's Time 02:38
Time to reflect, divulge and dissect, it's time Time to unwind, to lose and to find, it's time Time to rebuild, holes to be filled, it's time Time to acknowledge and take out the garbage, it's time It's time for self improvement. Time for a change, to rearrange, it's time Time to let go, time to go slow, it's time Time to move on and finish this song, it's time Time to say yes, and clean up the mess, it's time It's time for self improvement.

Verch'l 03:25
I got life, I need hope, I got enemies, I need soap, I got cool, I need warm, I got ideas, I need form. But it’s verch’l, almost as good as the real thing. I got hopes, I need dreams, I got plans, I need schemes, I got you, I need me, I got two, I need three. But it’s verch’l, almost as good as the real thing. And I don’t need any kinda flotsam and jetsam But I will if you’re gonna go out and get some And I don’t think it‘s gonna be any kinda problem If you do and I find that I’ve already got'em….

TogetherLand 06:34
Let me come in from the rain so we can talk a while, Let me try to explain, maybe raise a smile. Can I come in from the cold, we can sit next to the fire, Don’t believe what you’ve been told, everyone’s a liar. All I want is hangtime with my overlover, Hangtime with my overlover, Hangtime with my overlover, Here in Togetherland. It’s the way I remember, how we used to be, You saying never, ever again; me being just me. So let me come in from the rain and forgive me, Spare us both the pain and give me

Simple Life 05:43
I’m not a mountain you have to climb I’m not a river you have to swim I’m not a road you have to travel I’m not a battle you have to win. One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor, One man has and the other wants more, you see. I’m not a mountain you have to climb I’m not a river you have to swim I’m not a road you have to travel I’m not a battle you have to win. One man’s standard is another man’s goal, Once you’re born you just get old, you see.

about

Recorded over a long period - some tracks are developed from demos done on a Yamaha MT-1X four-track cassette recorder back in the 1980s - this album was mostly recorded, mixed and mastered in my hand-made studio in the countryside in southern Japan.

Amongst the rice fields, dairy farms, and lovely old farmers, whose local dialect I have no hope of understanding, came the sounds of drums, take after take... guitars yelling at the crows that still hang around my vegetable garden...
